Tips for Improving Analysis and evaluation

Requirements: The return rate compares, roughly speaking, the number of the questionnaires that go out to the authorized OS participants to the number of incoming completed questionnaires. Return rates are calculated for the company as a whole and also in more detail for each of the surveyed organizational units.

ISPA Support: We offer calculations of the return rates continuously from beginning to end of the completion period. By doing so we are able to identify highs and lows of participation in single organizational units, which enables client companies to react accordingly, for example by sending reminders or giving participants more time to fill in the questionnaires. It must be noted that rates of return are only useful for management decisions if the respondents are willing to indicate their affiliation to the organizational units of the company. Otherwise the calculated rates, either too high or too low, will not yield meaningful results.

Requirements: While the results from online OS are ready for data processing, the results from print OS need special treatment and must be transferred either manually from questionnaire to computing or, more efficiently, by high-speed scanning.

ISPA Support: ISPA consult provides high-speed scanning solutions whenever this is feasible and desired by the client company. Alternatively, we offer manual transfer, which is executed by a highly specialized service provider from within the ISPA network.

Requirements: After data processing is finished, reports on the results of the analysis and evaluation must be generated both for the company as a whole and for single organizational units. The focus lies on frequencies and means of data distribution, often combined with internal and external benchmarking. Strengths and weaknesses of the perceived working conditions are identified and recommendations are given on how to improve the present conditions.

ISPA Support: ISPA consult is prepared to meet all of these and other company-specific requirements in two different ways:

  1. by ISPA-made reports according to the requirements of the client company;
  2. by enabling client companies to self-report, applying special ISPA-owned software called Interaction Report Program (IRP).

ISPA reports include the calculation of box plots and also the generation of complex measures, such as satisfaction, commitment, engagement, and others as components of HR cockpits and dashboards. If required by the client company, the results of data mining and linkage research are taken into consideration as well.

Requirements: Staff members, whatever their motivation to fill in the questionnaire was, expect that at least the most important results of the analysis and evaluation are communicated to them and discussed in the company. In general, they are interested mostly in information about how their own organizational unit compares to others. Nowadays, various communicational concepts are available and applied in the OS client companies, using different media and communication channels. Very often, it is left to single supervisors on the departmental level to inform about and to discuss the results with the staff members of the organizational unit for which they are responsible.

ISPA Support: ISPA consult offers three proven concepts, which can be booked on demand by client companies either alternatively or in combination:

  1. Workshop moderation trainings for supervisors who prefer to moderate workshops with their staff members themselves;
  2. Professional workshop moderation by qualified ISPA experts, allowing supervisors to focus on the discussion of results with their staff members;
  3. Coaching for supervisors to eliminate obstacles in handling the results of OS.

As a matter of fact, moderated workshops are frequently applied not only to communicate and discuss results but also to elaborate on possible actions towards improvement where weaknesses are identified.
