Event evaluation planning

Planning an event evaluation
An event can take the form of a training course/exhibition, training/workshop/seminar/conference etc. We use the standardised term ‘event evaluation’ for feedback.

Regardless of whether you are the organiser yourself or whether you are registering participants for events on behalf of an organisation, careful planning is essential for the success of an event evaluation. The evaluation of an event provides valuable insights into the participants' experiences and, where applicable, their learning behaviour. Evaluating the feedback is essential in order to identify positive and negative aspects and uncover opportunities for optimisation.

As a competent partner, we support you in this:

-Project management

-Kick-off meeting Event evaluation

-Define objectives

-Determine questionnaire and method of implementation

-Customised questionnaire development

Careful planning is the basis for making the right decision. In many cases, further information on the content, form, costs and benefits is required before the final decision is made. We will be happy to provide you with this information as part of a non-binding offer and, on request, in the form of a concept presentation.

Event evaluation overall process

In the kick-off meeting, a common understanding of the objectives and the handling of the survey results of the event evaluation is created.
In addition, the event evaluation process is outlined, from planning to implementation to evaluation, and the right time for the survey is determined (e.g. shortly before the end of the event, at the end of the event or one day after the event).
Finally, the questionnaire and the method of implementation (online, paper or hybrid) are determined.

The questionnaire and its design are customised to the client's needs, whereby the subject areas are selected.
The ISPA basic questionnaire can be used as a basis and customised. It is also possible to check existing questionnaires for quality standards and weaknesses and to incorporate them into the ISPA survey layout.

There are basically three options for the choice and design of the questionnaire:

1. ISPA basic questionnaire with approx. 23 questions and seven open free text fields.

2. customer questionnaire with or without modifications. ISPA consult GmbH will be happy to support you in optimising the questionnaire, for example by shortening, supplementing or scaling it.

3. we develop a new questionnaire together with you and the corporate client's project team. The result is not a standard questionnaire, but a customised questionnaire that takes your individual characteristics into account.

The ISPA basic questionnaire offers:
one scale level: interval scaled

  • 4-point scale ((1) = ‘strongly agree’, (2) = ‘somewhat agree’, (3) = ‘somewhat disagree’, (4) = ‘strongly disagree’)
  • 6-point scale ((1-6) = overall grade for the event/training/seminar/training)
